As a part of Black History Month, each class researched the life of a significant BAME figure (or campaigner for equal rights) and then decorated their classroom door with their work produced (see below). We also booked a series of ‘Black History Icons’ workshops with the Perform Theatre Company and a virtual workshop (KS2 pupils) with author Vanessa Taylor.

As well as taking part in this annual celebration, we have mapped diversity across our History curriculum (as we don’t want Black History to just be a bolt-on event every year).
