BHM: 'Black History Icons' Workshops
Our KS2 pupils took part in a series of ‘Black History Icons’ workshops led by the Perform Theatre Company. The children were taken on a journey through Black History and came face to face with iconic figures that devoted their lives to giving the black population equal rights. They found out about Mary Seacole and how she was rejected because of her race. Used drama techniques, supported by music, to understand the lives of Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King. Brought to life characters such as Rosa Parks and improvised scenes from the day of the bus boycott.
