Last Day – Mrs Sullivan’s Early Bird Group

Dear parent/carer,

Hopefully you’ve heard lots of exciting things about some of the things that have been happening as a part of our Book Week. The week began with a special assembly introducing Book Week and promoting a love of reading. On Tuesday evening pupils returned to school, wearing their pyjamas, to take part in our Bedtime Stories event which included lots of interactive story telling (as well as lots of milk and biscuits)! A big thank you to all the parents who came along to our informal reading workshop/coffee evening in the school hall (we hope you found it useful). Yesterday, all classes walked to Waterstone’s book store, in Uxbridge, to claim their free World Book Day token. The children are very much looking forward to tomorrow’s Dress-up Day (please see further details below). We are also inviting parents/carers into classes, from 9am until 9.30am, to share stories with their child (or small groups of children).

Tomorrow’s Dress-up Day

Tomorrow is our book themed Dress-up Day and we have invited all children to come to school dressed as their favourite character from a fairytale or traditional story. We look forward to seeing all of the costumes on show! There will be a small prize for the most imaginative, hand-made costume from each class.

Years 3 to 5 Easter Production

This production will take place on Tuesday 27th March at 2.30pm and then again at 6pm. ALL children in Years 3 to 5 are expected to be present for both performances, if for any reason your child can not attend, please write a note to their class teacher explaining the reasons as soon as possible. Thank you in advance.

Inclusive New Age Kurling Competition

Next Tuesday, a group of Year 6 pupils will represent our school at the ‘New Age Curling Competition’. We have tried to select a group of children who may not have had the opportunity to represent our school in other competitions throughout the year. The team have given up their break times to practise for the event and they are all really enthusiastic about taking part. Thank you to Mr Stringer for organising all of the arrangements.

Mrs Sullivan’s Early Bird Group

The last session for this term will take place on Friday 23rd March. This includes both her RM Easimaths group and her Nessy Touch Typing children. A revised group of children will be invited to attend after the Easter holiday.

Help Needed – New Table Tennis Table

Our pupil School Council recently purchased a table tennis table for the children to use during break and reward times. We are looking for any parent volunteers who might be able to give up some of their time to build this table so that pupils can start using it. If you may be able to help, please speak to Mr Stringer (Year 6 teacher) or alternatively send him a note via your child’s book bag. Thank you in advance.

End of Term

We break up for Easter on Thursday 29th March at the earlier time of 1.30pm. All Nursery pupils should attend the morning session on this day from 8.30am until 11.30am.

All pupils return to school on Monday 16th April.
