Dear Parent/Carer,

It’s been a really busy week for our Year 6 children who completed their final SATs test today. They now have lots of activities to look forward to including their PGL residential trip, Bike-ability cycling training, secondary school transition workshops, Leavers’ Production and Mass. Thank you to all the visitors who came along to watch Year 5’s Assembly on Tuesday. The children performed their parts brilliantly teaching us lots about Pentecost. A particular well done to those pupils who had to stand in at the last minute for children who were absent.

Walk to School Week

Next week has been designated as the country-wide Walk to School Week. As a part of this week, each class will be taking part in the 5-Day Walking Challenge whereby there will be rewards for pupils who make an effort to either walk, cycle or scoot to school every day. If you live quite far away from our school, this may mean parking a bit further away and walking for the last 10 minutes or so.

Donations of Boxes

Our Early Years Team would really appreciate any donations of boxes e.g. cereal, shoe, tissue boxes (and also cardboard kitchen roll tubes). Please hand any donations to our EYs staff (standing at the front entrance to our EYS setting each morning). Thank you in advance.

Early Years Class Assembly

If you work for a large, private company consider sending this email to your HR department this week, they will probably have a match funding scheme

‘Dear Employer   - I am an employee of (Company name) and work in (department). I am active in raising funds for my child’s school, St Mary’s Catholic Primary School. WE are currently aiming to raise £20,000 for a school library bus as the school is unable to extend its building and the current library is too small. This is a creative way to have an additional classroom for the children to learn together. We plan different events throughout the year to raise funds and I wanted to ask if our company has a Match Funding Scheme, which supports the local community, as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility?’   - copy and paste into an email today!!

We need lots of ads. in the Summer Fete Programme and you know lots of people that would like to advertise to over 200 families

The programme is a professionally designed and printed A5 brochure handed out to around 200 families at the Summer fete. Full page ad. £25, half page ad. £15.  Email your ad. to sarahwells26@gmail.com, theurbancoach@hotmail.co.uk, aileenconnery@yahoo.co.uk

8 full page ads and 12 half page ads will raise £380 before the Fete even begins!!

Please ask your local hair salon, nail bar, local trades, builders, painters, plumbers, car-mechanic, children-party entertainer, children’s dance school, football clubs, your local pub or curry-house to place an ad., to name but a few………………  Do you need a letter to hand to a local business, please come along, we can help.

Deadline Friday 8th June 3.30pm

Please offer gifts and services to the Summer Fete Silent Auction – you are talented!

This is a big attraction at our Summer Fete. Parents will have a great time bidding for gifts and services. What can you offer?  Do you have any birthday and Christmas presents you would like to donate to the school?  How about offering to cook a meal? Bake a celebration cake? Offering of cleaning? Or language lessons? What are you talented at? Could you ask a local restaurant for a voucher? Do you own a holiday home?  Beauty vouchers?

Deadline Friday 15th June 3.30pm
