Next Week: SATs Week and Year 6 Breakfast Club

Year 6: SATs Week and Breakfast Club

Throughout next week our Year 6 pupils will be completing their end of KS2 SATs tests. We will be providing breakfast for the Yr6 children during this week. After they have eaten, we will be helping the children with their final revision preparations. Please note that the breakfast club will start at 8am.

Mrs Sullivan’s Early Bird Maths Group

Reminder: Mrs Sullivan’s 8.30am group will not be taking place throughout the whole of next week, due to preparations for the Year 6 Breakfast Club.

Year 6 PGL

The Year 6 residential trip to the PGL Centre will take place from Wed 8th to Fri 10th July. The original letter sent home stated that this visit would take place in June (this was a typing error) – sorry for any confusion caused.

Lost Scooter

One of our pupils has recently lost a purple/pink micro mini scooter. If found, please let the school office know.

Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers

Sainsbury’s issued their last vouchers on Tuesday. If you have any vouchers left lying around at home, please bring them into school as soon as possible (we will be counting them next Friday). Thank you to everybody who has made a donation towards this scheme.

Gymnastics Club

The Gymnastics Club will not be taking place next Wednesday morning, due to our Year 6 Breakfast Club taking place in the school hall.

School Hats

We have a variety of hats available in the school for £3. If you would like to purchase one please download a Uniform Order Form from our website and send it into school via your child’s book bag.

This will take place on Tuesday 19th May. All parents, carers and family members are most welcome to attend. The main entrance to school will be opened shortly before 3pm for all visitors to make their way to the hall.

The children all seemed to enjoy the experience and we hope to begin printing the pictures next week.

Summer Fete – 13th June 2015

Hi Everyone

As you know the school fete will be held on Saturday 13th June: 12-3pm. We are really looking forward to a day where parents, teachers and the children can join together for some fun whilst earning funds for the school.  As with any event we need lots of help to make it successful so we are really hoping that you will be able to help us out with the following:

  1. Advertising  for the fete programme

If you would like to advertise your business (or the company of anyone you know) please send an electronic file to stmaryspta@outlook.com (by Wednesday 20 May). Ideally email a .jpeg file although a PDF would be acceptable.

Alternatively you can place a good quality photocopy (and payment), in an envelope labelled ‘Ad for fete’ and then send it into school via your child’s book bag.

The charge for an A5 (whole page advert) is £25.

The charge for an A6 (half page advert) is £15.

A parent has already offered to collate all the advertisements into a high quality programme - which is great news!

  1. Raffle Prizes

Could your company donate a prize for the raffle or take part in a profit matching scheme? We are hoping for luxury items (e.g. bottle of champagne), tickets for events/theatre or electronic items e.g.  iPods, mp3 players, cameras,  tablets etc.

  1. Auction of Promises

At one of the previous fetes this event was really food fun and proved to be very profitable!!

It is an opportunity for parents to offer their skilled/professional time. For instance you could offer:

  • Beautician – offer a manicure or pedicure
  • Gardener – 2 hours gardening
  • Hairdresser – a haircut
  • Languages – to provide 6 lessons (x30 minutes) of Spanish/Polish/Portuguese/French tuition (or the offer of their time to help someone else)
  • 2 hours cleaning
  • 2  hours ironing
  • 5  hours babysitting (7pm to midnight )

Send in your promise to stmaryspta@outlook.com or place your request in your child’s book bag labelled ‘Promise for Fete’.
