Book Week 2015

Summer Fete- Thank You

Thank you to everybody who came along to the Summer Fete last Saturday. The event had a lovely atmosphere and it was great to see pupils, parents and family members enjoying the day together. Thank you to everybody who offered up their time to make the fete such a success. Events like this really wouldn’t be possible without the excellent support we receive from our school community!

A thank you from the PTA:

Thank you to everyone who helped to make the day a success, all the advance planning, shopping, collects ads. For the programme and persuading businesses to donate prizes. To those of you who worked hard on the stalls throughout the day and stayed to tidy-up. To those of you that spent lots of money! The fete could not have taken place without all your wonderful support. We would also like to thank teachers and staff who gave up their time.  We are really pleased to tell you that the fete made £2,308.74.

Next year's fete date will be confirmed in September 2015 and we can begin planning for an even bigger and better event.

Book Week

The children looked fantastic today in their various costumes. All pupils were entertained by two book related theatre shows (EYs/KS1: Fables and KS2: Myths and Legends). On Tuesday all pupils were invited to come back to school dressed in their pyjamas for our ‘Bedtimes Stories’ event. They were given milk and biscuits and read various stories. Please take a look at the ‘Gallery’ on our website for photos of some of these events.

Eco Schools – Silver Award

Our school was awarded the Eco Schools Silver Award this week (due to our commitment towards making our school are more eco-friendly environment). The focus this year has been on saving electricity and water. Our Eco-Committee (made up of pupil representatives from each class) has been meeting every half term to achieve various targets across the school. Well done to all the members of this group (and also Miss Copper for all her hard work leading this initiative).
