Our Spirituality Day & Test Week will be taking place next week

Test Week

All pupils (from Years 1 to Year 5) will be completing various tests throughout next week. All data will be analysed and used to plan future targets and support. The results will also be included on your child’s Annual Pupil Progress Report (due to be sent home on Monday 20th July).

Drum Masterclass

On Monday 6th July, we are lucky enough to be visited by former Status Quo drummer, and rock legend, Jeff Rich. He will be visiting in the afternoon to hold a series of ‘Drum Masterclasses’ with all pupils from Upper Early Years to Year 6. The children will get the opportunity to watch Jeff perform a solo - including the top ten chart hit ‘Rocking all Over the World’. They will then get the opportunity to play different drums. In order to make this event possible, we are asking all parents for a voluntary contribution of:

£1.60 for pupils in Upper Early Years and Years 1 & 2

£3.10 for pupils in Years 3 to 6 (the charge for a Junior Workshop costs more, as the session length is longer)

To make a voluntary contribution please log onto the following website and choose ‘Drum Masterclass’:

Thank you in advance.

London Fire Brigade Workshops

Next Monday, a representative from the London Fire Brigade will visit the children in Years 2 and 5 to carry out interactive, educational workshops. Pupils will learn about preventing, detecting and escaping safely from fire in the home. Basic fire safety messages will be introduced in Year 2 with an emphasis on learning through play. In Year 5, learning will be reinforced and expanded through activities that look at home fire safety in more detail and on a wider scale.

District Sports

Well done to all the pupils, from Years 3 to 6, who have been selected to take part in this year’s District Sports. This event will take place, next Wednesday 1st July, at the Hillingdon Athletics Stadium, Gatting Way, Uxbridge (at 4pm).

NSPCC Fundraising

Please collect any sponsor money ‘promised’ and send it into school by next Tuesday 30th June.

The NSPCC will be returning to school next Friday, to lead a ‘Thank You Assembly’ with the children.

Paying By Cheque?: Please make it payable to - “NSPCC Registered Charity”

Early Years Trip

Next Friday 3rd July, all Early Years pupils will be visiting Bekonscot Model Village and Railway. All EYs children should arrive at school by 8.45am and be collected at 3.30pm (we will keep you informed via our text messaging service if the pupils are running late). Pupils should bring a sun hat/rain jacket as appropriate. A packed lunch is required in a named plastic carrier bag (for easy disposal).

Mrs Sullivan’s Early Bird Maths Group

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mrs Sullivan’s 8.30am group will not take place on both Thursday 9th and Friday 10th July. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Year 1 - Class Assembly

Next Tuesday 30th June, Year 1 will be performing a special Spirituality Assembly as a part of our Spirituality Day in school. All parents, carers and family members are most welcome to attend. The front entrance to school will be opened, shortly before 3pm, for all visitors to make their way to the hall.

Holy Communion Information Session – Year 2 Parents

Next Tuesday 30th June, Father Nicholas and Angela will be leading a ‘Holy Communion Information Session’ for all parents of pupils currently in Year 2. This meeting will take place, in school, between 3.30 and 4pm (there is no need to reserve a place).

Book Fair

On Monday 6th July, we will be holding a Book Fair in the school hall. Pupils will get the opportunity to visit the Fair during the day and it will be available to parents from 3.30pm.

Sun Hats, Sun Cream and Water Bottles

We have been lucky enough to see some warm, sunny weather over the last week or so. To shield your child from the sun, please apply sun cream before school and provide them with a sun hat to wear during break time and PE lessons. You may also like to send your child into school with a water bottle - that they can drink from during lessons. These bottles should be transparent, labelled with your child’s name and have a sports style lid (to avoid any spills). As a part of our ‘Healthy Schools’ initiative we are trying to encourage all pupils to drink more water (please do not fill water bottles with juices or flavoured water - as these often contain high amounts of sugar). Thank you.

Jewellery and Watches

Due to recent issues we have had regarding jewellery, we would like to refer all parents/carers to our uniform policy, which all students are provided with upon their admission and is also available to view on our school website: “Pupils may wear appropriate watches, for which they accept responsibility. A pair of plain stud earrings may be worn (although the school would prefer that earrings are not worn to school).  Earrings and watches must be removed by the pupil prior to PE lessons (including swimming). No other jewellery may be worn and pupils accept responsibility for any jewellery including earrings. The school does not accept responsibility for any watches or jewellery.”
