Friendship Week Celebrations!

Friendship Week

Throughout next week, we will be celebrating our Friendship Week in school. The aim of this week is to promote friendship and anti-bullying messages in school. Lots of fun activities have been planned - including assemblies, art work and competitions. As in previous years, each child will anonymously pick a ‘Secret Friend’ and they will then need to make an extra special effort to be kind to this person. The secret friends will be revealed next Friday!

Curriculum Open Afternoon

We would like to invite you to our Curriculum Open Afternoon which is taking place next Tuesday 17th November 2015 (at 2pm).

The following activities have been planned for the afternoon:

2pm: Tour of the school (including a visit to each classroom whilst the children are taking part in various activities) – this will be led by our Year 6 pupils

2.30pm: Miss Shevlin will give a talk in the hall about our school priorities for this year and how we will assess without levels.

3pm: Coffee Afternoon (our ‘Friends of St. Mary’s Association’ will provide tea and coffee for a small donation).

We would love to see you at this event. If you would like to attend - please complete the reply slip (sent home on Wednesday) and return it to school as soon as possible. Please contact the school office if you require another letter.

Early Bird

Unfortunately Mrs Sullivan’s Early Bird Maths group will not be taking place next Thursday morning at 8.30am. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Friends of St Mary’s

A really big thank you to the small number of parents who attended the ‘Friends’ meeting on Monday – we really appreciate the support. Another meeting will be held in the next few weeks, to plan our upcoming Christmas Carol Concert and Fair.

Voluntary Contributions to the Governors’ Maintenance Fund

Thank you very much to everyone who has sent in a contribution.

We know some parents wait for the reminders and these are being processed now.

In order to reduce administration we will request the voluntary contributions for the whole Academic Year 2015 – 2016  but if you wish to send less,  or more,  just amend and return the request slips accordingly.

If you are a UK tax payer please consider Gift Aiding your donation, which means we can get 25% more, from HMRC and at no extra cost to you.  Mrs Law, Finance Officer, will be happy to send you the form, or just telephone or email for more information.

Many thanks.
