Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy 2016

Pope Francis has declared this year to be an Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, where the whole Church is called to reflect and act upon the mercy shown by God. From Pope to parishioner, each of us is to be a living witness to the love shown by Jesus to all he met and as a school we want to join in and celebrate the year.

The children have had an assembly on the Year of Mercy and we will have further assemblies throughout the year. Over the term we will be looking at ways we can show Mercy through – forgiveness, kindness and compassion

The children will be saying the Westminster Diocese shortened Year of Mercy Prayer and we would like families to join in at home and say the prayer.

Another busy week in school!

On Tuesday, Year 5 entertained us with their assembly all about ‘inspirational people’. The children read their lines, sang and performed brilliantly – thank you to all the family members who attended. Today, parents of pupils in our Early Years were invited to come into school for our first ‘Muffins with Mums and Dads’ event. It was lovely to see the children enjoying various activities with their parents (and the muffins were good too)!

Pupil Voice Day

Next Monday, we will be holding our Pupil Voice Day in school. Every class, from Reception upwards, will be split into small groups and then interviewed by staff (including Miss Shevlin and Mr Briggs). The children will be asked a range of questions to determine what they like about our school and what areas they would like to improve. Every pupil will also complete an individual questionnaire - on the same day. Please visit our school website, to see samples of the questions we will be using – we will also publish the results of the surveys once they have been analysed.

Year 1 Class Assembly

Year 1’s class assembly will take place next Tuesday 2nd February, at 3pm, in the school hall. All parents, carers and family members are most welcome to attend. The front entrance to school will be opened up shortly before 3 o’clock, for all visitors to make their way to the school hall.

Boris Johnson Visit

Next Friday 5th February, local MP and Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, will be visiting our school. He will be met by our Year 6 representatives and will then visit every class to chat to the children about their work and school. Please keep an eye on our website for photographs from the day.

Clothing Recycling

We are arranging a clothing collection to raise funds for the school next term.  At the moment we have very little storage space and would ask that if you have any unwanted clothing if you could store them for us until we have the confirmed dates.  We thank you in anticipation of receiving lots of bags of unwanted clothing, linens, shoes, bags and belts to raise money.  Last term £60 was raised and in January 2015 we received £150.
