Doors of Mercy Blessing

Welcome back! We hope you had a lovely Easter and a restful break. We’re looking forward to a busy Summer Term ahead including our upcoming Parents’ Evenings, class assemblies and our planned Science and Maths Weeks. We’ve included a list of the main diary dates below but please visit the Calendar, on our website, for a complete list of all events taking place in school: http://www.st-marys.hillingdon.sch.uk/

Doors of Mercy Blessing

Each year group has turned their classroom door into a Door of Mercy. If you haven’t had the chance to see the various designs, please take a look at the Gallery on our website. Father Nicholas will be visiting school, next Friday 22nd April, to lead a special service with the whole school to bless the doors. All parents, carers and family members are most welcome to attend at 10.45am.

Parents’ Evenings

You will have received a letter this week inviting you to attend one of our Parents’ Evenings, on either Tuesday 19th or Thursday 21st April. This will be a good opportunity to discuss the results from our recent Test Week and to share planned targets and support for this term.

Mrs Sullivan’s RM Easimaths Group

Mrs Sullivan’s revised group, for the Summer Term, will start next Monday 18th April. If your child has been invited to attend, and you have accepted the place, please ensure they are ready to be collected from the front entrance at 8.30am prompt. Unfortunately, any pupil arriving late will have to wait until 8.40am, before going into class with the rest of the school – this is to avoid any disruption to the rest of the group.

Official Opening – Rockingham Recreational Ground Playground

The Mayor of Hillingdon will officially open the newly installed playground at Rockingham Recreation Ground on Thursday 28th April 2016, from 1.30 to 2.30pm. As our pupils were involved in the design of the new equipment, our Year 6 class have been invited to represent our school at the ribbon cutting event. We have also been asked to invite all parents, carers and family members to attend. Light refreshments will be served and an official photographer will also be attending.

Labelling all uniform, water bottles and lunch boxes

Please ensure all your child’s uniform, water bottles and lunch boxes are labelled with their name. This will help to prevent lost property.

Summer Fete

This year our summer fete will be on Saturday 25th June 12noon -3pm. Please put the date in your diary. We are really looking forward to an afternoon where parents, children and teachers can join together for lots of fun whilst earning funds for the school. There will be a meeting after the Easter holidays to welcome volunteers to help with the organisation of our main fundraiser of the year.  In the meantime we really need the support of parents who work for companies who, as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility Policy (CSR), can offer profit-matching schemes. These schemes can hugely boost the profits of the event; these profits are all passed onto the children to ensure they have an innovative and enhanced learning environment at St Mary's. Please email Sarah Wells and Sue Serret at stmaryspta@outlook.com if you can help with profit matching or asking your company to donate the main raffle prizes. Many thanks.
