Thursday 23rd March 2017
Throughout this week we have been celebrating our Hinduism Week in school. Each class has been finding out more about Hindu beliefs and how the scriptures guide them in their daily life. On Monday; Years 1, 2 and 6 were lucky enough to visit a Hindu temple (the Mandir), near Wembley, to find out more about their communal place of worship.
Thank you to everybody who requested an appointment for one of our Parents’ Evenings this week. If you have any further questions, please arrange a follow up meeting with your child’s class teacher.
Early Years – Stations of the Cross
Unfortunately we have had to cancel our Early Years trip to Church tomorrow as Father Nicholas now has an urgent meeting to attend. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to help.
There will be a non-uniform day on Monday 27th March in support of Early Years’ Charity: The Rainbow Trust. Children can come to school dressed in the colours of the rainbow. We are asking for £1 donation for the Charity.
Mrs Sullivan’s Early Bird Maths Group
The last session for this term is taking place tomorrow. We will carefully analyse the results from our recent tests and invite new pupils to join this group next term. The first session will not take place until after the Year 6 SATs have finished (week beginning Mon 15th May).
Years 3, 4 and 5 Easter Production
Our Years 3, 4 and 5 Easter Production will take place next Tuesday 28th March, at 2pm and 6pm. All parents, carers and family members are most welcome to attend. If your child is attending the evening performance, please drop them off at their classroom from 5.30pm (no later than 5.45pm please), before making your way to the hall to be seated for the performance.
Combined Nursery Session 31/03/17
Due to school finishing early for the end of the term, all Nursery children will attend the morning session on Friday 31st March from 8:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
End of Term Mass
On Friday 31st March, all pupils will visit Church in the morning to celebrate our end of term mass. We require some parents/carers to help accompany the children to and from Church (we will be leaving school just after 9am). If you are able to walk with the children, please let your child’s teacher know as soon as possible. Thank you in advance.
If parents give out party bags at the end of the day, please may they not include party poppers.
Fundraising for the School
We are arranging a clothing collection to raise funds for the school after half term. At the moment we have very little storage space and would ask that if you have any unwanted clothing you could store them for us. The clothes collection bags will be sent out week beginning 17th April and we ask if these can be brought into school on Monday 24th April as these will be collected on the Tuesday. We thank you in anticipation of receiving lots of bags of unwanted clothing, linens, shoes, bags and belts to raise money.
Some of our Year 6 children enjoyed a trip to Wembley Arena on Wednesday 22nd March, to watch various acts perform as well as listen to motivating speakers talks about different topics such as racism and equality.
From this visit the children have learnt how they can make a change on both a local and a global scale.
For more information about WE day please visit:
There will be pictures of the day on the school website.
Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers
Thank you for all the donations of these vouchers – please continue to send them into school via your child’s book bag. One voucher will be issued in Sainsbury’s stores for every £10 spent. The more vouchers we receive – the more sports equipment we can purchase for our pupils to use.
Year 3 and Year 4 packed lunches for their trip
If you haven’t ordered a packed lunch from our caterers for your Year 3/Year 4 child, please make sure to send a packed lunch on Thursday 30th March.
