Welcome back - we hope you enjoyed the October break. We’re looking forward to a busy half term ahead with a range of activities planned including productions, carol concerts, discos and class trips. Thank you to everybody who came along to our All Saints’ Mass yesterday morning – it was lovely to see so many parents, carers, parishioners and family members in attendance.

    Class Masses

Over the next few weeks, each class will walk to Church to participate in the 9.30am mass. If you are able to help accompany the children to and from Church, please let your child’s class teacher know. Each class will leave school, just after 9am, on the following dates:

    Year Groups

    Tues 14th November

    Years 1 and 6

    Tues 21st November

    Years 3 and 4

    Tues 28th November

    Years 2 and 5

Research shows that reading for pleasure makes a significant difference to children’s educational performance. As a school we actively encourage all of our pupils to read to their parents every night. We ask that you help your child to maintain their Reading Record by signing their book when you hear them read. Thank you for your support.

    Christmas Events

The following events have been planned to celebrate Advent and the lead up to Christmas -

Thursday 7th December: Pavilions Carol Concert.

Tuesday 12th December: Early Years Christmas Production at 10.30am.

Tuesday 12th December: Year 6 to attend the Advent Carol Service at Westminster Cathedral.

Thursday 14th December: Years 1 and 2 Christmas Production at 2.30pm and 6pm.

Tuesday 19th December: Christmas Carol Concert in Church (all parents, carers, family members invited).

Wednesday 20th December: End of Term Mass (Church) at 9.30am.

    Early Years Combined Sessions

Due to arrangements for the Early Years Christmas Production, the morning and afternoon Nursery groups will be combined on the following dates:

Monday 11th December: Both groups should attend the afternoon session on this day from 12.30pm until 3.30pm (dress rehearsal).

Tuesday 12th December: All Nursery children should attend the morning session from 8.30am until 11.30am (EYs Christmas Production for parents, carers and family members).

    Clothing Recycling

Thank you very much to the all families who bought clothes, shoes and books for our last clothes collections for recycling. We have managed to raise £285. Thanks for your support.

    Christmas Fayre

This year’s Christmas Fayre will take place at the school on 8th December from 3.30pm to 5.30 p.m.

     Christmas Holidays

Please remember that the school term dates are available on the school board at the main entrance and on the school website.

School will finish on Wednesday 20th December at 1:30 p.m. The spring term will start on Thursday 4th January 2018 at 8:40 a.m.

At St Mary’s we do not authorise any holiday booked in term time as since September 2013 Government instruction has stated that no holidays in term time can be authorised.
