To register your child for St. Mary's Catholic Primary School, we need you to complete an application form that you can pick up from the school office or download below. Please note that the School Office is only open for Admissions on a Tuesday ONLY and the office is closed from 11.30 to 1.15 p.m. When you submit your application you will also need to provide us with the original birth and baptism certificates belonging to your child and a proof of addess (i.e. Council Tax). A Certificate of Catholic Practice needs to be signed within the year prior to school entry, the form can be downloaded from the link below.
The school has been regularly oversubscribed by Catholic applicants for a number of years. We are a one form entry school and have one Reception class with only 30 spaces. Shown below are application numbers for the last seven years:

2017: 185 No appeals
2016: 160 No appeals
2015: 173 1 appeal heard and was unsuccessful
2014: 154 7 appeals heard all unsuccessful
2013: 176 1 appeal upheld following introduction of new legislation
2012: 171 3 appeals heard all unsuccessful
2011: 132 No appeals
The governors have always followed the protocols for ranking of applications rigorously and the Admissions Policy has always been strictly adhered to and as a result of this appeals have been unsuccessful.
In the last three years we have not been able to fulfil all the applications in the “Baptised practising Catholic children who are resident in the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes and St Michael” criteria.

2016 - 17 Full Time Admissions Policy and Criteria incorporates the mandatory changes as required to comply with the new Admissions Code 2011 for pupils who attain 4 years of age between 01/09/2015 and 31/08/2016.
PRIMARY SCHOOL APPLICATION FOR SEPTEMBER 2018 – Children born between 1 September 2013 and 31 August 2014
The closing date for your child's primary school application was 15th January 2018.
All the information you require regarding the admission process, admission policies and criteria and our mission statement can be found within the packs above.
We suggest that you drop your application form to the school office in person (please see opening day and hours above in first paragraph) so that we can photocopy your certificates immediately and therefore you do not need to worry about sending original documents in the post.
Please note there is no automatic progression from Nursery to Reception.
Parents have 20 school days from the date of notification that their application was unsuccessful to lodge a written appeal and 10 school days notice of date of appeal hearing. Appeals will be heard within 40 school days of the submission of the appeal (30 school days in the case of late or in-year applications).
