Next Week: World Book Day - Costumes Needed!

Welcome Back

Welcome back – we hope you had a good holiday and a restful break. We have a short, but very busy, half term ahead including our planned World Book Day celebrations, class trips and a visit from the Mayor of Uxbridge. Please see below for further details.

Year 2 Class Assembly

Year 2’s class assembly will take place next Tuesday 1st March, at 3pm, in our school hall.

All parents, carers and other family members are more than welcome to attend. A member of staff will open up the front entrance to school, shortly before 3 o’clock.

Years 3 and 4 Visit to Church

On Tuesday 1st March, Years 3 and 4 will walk to Church to find out more about the Stations of the Cross. We will be leaving school at 1.10pm – if you’re able to help with this visit, please let your child’s class teacher know as soon as possible. Thank you.  Year 4 will be carrying out a litter survey on the way back, walking through the Recreation Ground, then back to school.  So parents would need to be available for this also.

World Book Day

Our school is celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March and we would like to invite all pupils to come to school dressed as their favourite book characters. The children will get the opportunity to show off their outfits at a special Book Day assembly and there will be prizes for the most original, homemade costumes worn in each class. There are lots of websites out there, with great ideas for creating cheap outfits, including the following site:

Every pupil will be given a £1 book token and each class (from UEYs upwards) will walk to Waterstones book shop, in Uxbridge, to exchange their voucher for one of a selection of specially printed books. If you are able to help with your child’s trip, please let their teacher know as soon as possible. Each class will leave school at the following times:
