'Doors of Mercy' Blessing

We hope you found this week’s Parents Evenings helpful – if you have any further questions, please speak to your child’s class teacher. Father Nicholas visited school today, to lead a special service blessing the ‘Doors of Mercy’ created by each class. Thank you to all of the parents who came along to watch.

Hillingdon Year 4 Football Tournament on Thursday 21st April

Congratulations to our Year 4 team. They played against many good Hillingdon schools and won the tournament undefeated.

Many thanks to Mr Stringer and Mr Keaveney for all the time they dedicated to both training and organisation.

Science Week

Throughout next week, we will be holding our Science Week in school. The aim is to promote science through the use of fun, hands-on experiments, investigations and activities. We have also booked for each class to visit the Life Bus: this is a purpose built, interactive classroom that teaches pupils about the importance of adopting healthy life styles. Workshops will include the use of multimedia, puppets and models to engage the children. Parents have the opportunity to visit the Life Bus (on either Monday 25th or Tuesday 26th April from 8.50 to 9.20am). A letter was sent home earlier this week – providing further details.

Mrs Attipoe & Year 5 Cake Sale

The school is going to try and raise money for Mrs Attipoe, who I’m sure many of you know, as she was a parent at the school for many years. Mrs Ezenekwe is raising money to support her with her cancer treatment and as a school we would like to help her. Year 5 will be having a cake sale on Thursday 28th April at 3.30pm in the school hall. However, if you would like to donate directly to Mrs Attipoe you can do so via this link: https://www.gofundme.com/xmmbhytw

Year 2

On Monday 25th April, Year 2 will be released, after school, from our Computer Suite (the room next to Years 3 and 4). This is due to an event taking place in the school hall at 3.30pm.

Year 3 Visit to Church

Next Tuesday afternoon, Year 3 will visit Church as a part of their study of our parish. Please ensure your child brings a coat to school, in the likelihood of rain.

Mrs Sullivan’s Early Bird Maths Group

Unfortunately Mrs Sullivan’s 8.30am Maths Group will not take place next Wednesday 27th April – this is due to another event taking place in our Computer Room. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Donations of Lego Needed

We are hoping to be able to provide pupils with Lego that they can use during their lunch breaks. If you have any unwanted sets at home, and you are willing to donate them to school, please send them into school via your child. Thank you in advance.

Fundraising

We ask if anyone is able to donate bags of compost and/or plant pots to enable the pupils to grow sunflowers.  The seeds have been donated previously.  We are hoping to do a fundraising activity with the growing of the sunflowers to raise funds for the school.

We would also like to thank parents for the donations of unwanted clothing, shoes, bags and belts.  These were collected by the company this week and we are awaiting details of how much was raised and will inform you accordingly.

We appreciate your support with fundraising particularly with the current economic climate.

Year 2 Class Assembly

Year 2’s Class Assembly will take place on Tuesday 26th April. All parents, carers and family members are most welcome to attend. The front entrance to school will be opened up, by a member of staff, shortly before 3pm.

Year 6 Visit

The Mayor of Hillingdon will officially open the newly installed playground at Rockingham Recreation Ground on Thursday 28th April. Our Year 6 class have been invited to represent our school at the ribbon cutting event. All parents, carers and family members are welcome to attend at 1.30pm. Light refreshments will be served and an official photographer will also be attending.
