Visits to Church

On Tuesday evening, all of our teachers attended the Hillingdon Deanery Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Ruislip. This celebration was organised by the Headteacher of Douay Martyrs School, who invited all of the Catholic schools from across Hillingdon. Our Years 1 and 6 classes also visited our Church on the same day – thank you to all the adults who accompanied the children.

School Closed – Staff INSET Day

Reminder: School will be closed tomorrow Friday 23rd September due to our INSET Day. Our teachers and teaching assistants will be joined by education consultant Margaret Longstaffe for a full day of training based on ‘Outstanding Formative Assessment’. Our staff will also be joined by representatives from various other local schools.

Parents’ Evenings

Our upcoming Parents’ Evenings will take place next week on Tuesday 27th and Thursday 29th September. This will be an opportunity to discuss your child’s targets/support for this term and to ask any questions that you may have.

Years 2 and 5 Mass

Next Tuesday 27th September, Years 2 and 5 will walk to Church to participate in the 9.30am Mass. If you are able to accompany your child’s class to and from Church please let your child’s class teacher know as soon as possible (we will be leaving school just after 9am). Thank you in advance.

Working Together to Support the Children

We are really interested in finding out how we as a school can work closely with families to support the children with their learning. Many parents completed a survey at the end of the 'Meet the Teacher Presentations' on communication and curriculum areas that parents are interested in getting more information on. If you were unable to come to the meetings or would like to complete a survey please complete the attached survey and return it to school by Friday 30th of September.

The “Meet the Teacher” presentations are available on the school website. Please visit ‘our classes’ pages under the ‘children’ section.

Please click here for the 'Working Together to Support the Children' Survey.

Fundraising for the School

We are arranging a clothing collection to raise funds for the school after half term.  At the moment we have very little storage space and would ask that if you have any unwanted clothing  you could store them for us. The clothes collection bags will be sent out the week before half tem and we ask if these can be brought into school on Monday 31st October as these will be collected on the Tuesday. We thank you in anticipation of receiving lots of bags of unwanted clothing, linens, shoes, bags and belts to raise money.

We are very pleased to inform you that the April collection raised £120.

Please Label Your Child’s Uniform

Please ensure that all school uniform (including PE kit) is clearly labelled with your child’s name. It makes it very difficult locating lost items when they are not labelled. Thank you

Donations of Tissue Boxes

Boxes of tissues are needed for the children to use in class especially with the winter months coming. It would be very helpful if you could donate any tissue boxes for your child’s class. Your tissue boxes donations mean that the money that would have been used can go towards purchasing learning resources for the pupils.

Calling all Volunteer Accountants, Auditors or Book-keepers.

The school has two small sets of manual accounts, the Governors’ Fund and a Private Fund, that need auditing each year. One set closes 31st March and the other closes 31st August. There are notes as to what is required and you do not have to have formal qualifications.

If you have experience in an accounting environment or think you may be able to audit these accounts for us please contact the School Office.
