RE Survey
Thank you for completing the recent survey produced by the Diocese of Westminster. From a brief analysis of the data we have noticed there is not enough R.E. homework given. To address this we will now ensure that R.E. homework is set at least half termly.
Year 2’s Assembly
Year 2’s Class Assembly will take place next Tuesday 7th February, at 9am.
All parents, carers and family members are most welcome to attend. A member of staff will open up the front entrance shortly before this time.
End of Half Term
We break up for the half term holiday next Friday 10th February (at the usual time). All pupils return to school on Monday 20th February (8.40am). All early morning support groups (including Kent and Early Bird) will resume during this first week back (at the earlier time of 8.30am).
Book Week
During the week commencing Monday 27th February we will be holding our Book Week in school. The aim of this week is to promote a love and enjoyment of reading. To celebrate, Miss Gahan (our English/Literacy co-ordinator) has planned lots of exciting activities for the children to take part in.
On Tuesday 28th February, we will be inviting Year 1 to Year 6 pupils to come back to school for our Bedtime Stories event. They may come back dressed in their pyjamas. Milk and pancakes will be provided (more details to follow at a later date).
Nursery and Reception children will have stories in class. We would like to invite parents to come and read with their child at 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. or 2:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Children may bring a cuddly toy (which must be in a bag that is clearly labelled). Milk and pancakes will be provided.
On Thursday 2nd March, we are asking all pupils to come to school dressed as their favourite book characters. Please don’t feel the need to go out and buy any expensive costumes – there are lots of ideas on the internet for simple outfits that can be made at home. Near the end of the week there will be a special celebratory assembly and prizes awarded for the most imaginative, home-made costumes in each class. Children from Reception to Year 6 classes will be visiting Waterstones.
Donations for Early Years
Early Years would much appreciate your donations of the following items:
- Pots, pans, utensils
- Golf toys (plastic)
- Children’s tool sets/work benches
- Cleaned out moisturiser tubs and body butter tubs (twist caps) to help their motor skills
Fundraising for the School
We are arranging a clothing collection to raise funds for the school after half term. At the moment we have very little storage space and would ask that if you have any unwanted clothing you could store them for us. The clothes collection bags will be sent out next week and we ask if these can be brought into school on Monday 20th February as these will be collected on the Tuesday. We thank you in anticipation of receiving lots of bags of unwanted clothing, linens, shoes, bags and belts to raise money.
Donations of Tissue Boxes
Boxes of tissues are needed for the children to use in class especially during these winter months. It would be very helpful if you could donate any tissue boxes for your child’s class. Your tissue boxes donations mean that the money that would have been used can go towards purchasing learning resources for the pupils.
