Summer Term Governors’ Fund Contributions

If you have not sent in this term’s Governors’ Fund contribution please send it in as soon as possible, in a clearly marked envelope via your child.

Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers

If you still have any vouchers left lying around at home, please bring these into school as soon as possible, as we will be sending them back to Sainsburys at the end of next week. Thank you.

Donations to the Nursery

The Nursery would be grateful if you have any old dressing up items, particularly; princess dresses, knights/prince/king outfits, waistcoats, hats, bags/purses, crowns/tiaras.  Also any old books of London maps or tube maps of Uxbridge.  Items for junk modelling are also required, though please check that boxes do not have nuts or nut trace in the ingredients list.  Please bring these items directly to Lower Early Years.  Thank you.

Lip Balm

We are getting lots of lip balms coming to the office which have to be labelled and it is very disruptive when pupils are bringing them at the beginning and end of day.  Please can your child have one that is to be kept in school for use as and when required.  We would also like to avoid pupils bringing the flavoured and coloured type.

Football Team

The current season has now ended, with St. Mary’s coming second in the football league overall. Please see below for a match report (written by Callan – Yr4) giving details of our last match against St. Catherine’s Catholic School:

On Wednesday 29th April St. Mary’s played against St. Catherine’s School. They kicked off and went on the attack straight away. Their midfielder bolted down the line and sent a cross into the goal area. Luckily we intercepted the ball and cleared it away. After 5 minutes of exhausting play Lewis received the ball and ran down the line at rapid speed. He charged towards the goal leaving the St. Catherine’s players in his wake. He blasted the ball towards their goal and it went flying into the back of the net. The score was 1-0 to St. Mary’s! St. Catherine’s took the kick-off again but we quickly gained possession of the ball. Ethan played an accurate ball to Lewis who set Finley up for a fantastic second goal. The score was 2-0 when the half time whistle went.

Going into the second half St. Catherine’s made a menacing attack. Their striker hit the ball towards the goal at maximum power and with limited time Callan saved a sensational shot. St. Mary’s quickly made a counter attack. As fast as lightening Lewis ran across the field and blasted the ball into the bottom left corner. St. Mary’s were 3-0 up! Once again, St. Catherine’s kicked off but Jayden (with a phenomenal amount of pace) tackled their left winger and with some impeccable touches, scored a fourth goal. After a couple of minutes the opposition made an extraordinary attack. They had an amazing shot but sadly, for them, the ball was sent sailing over the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle. Final result 4-0 to St. Mary’s!
