Summer Fete - Tomorrow - 12pm

Summer Fete

Tomorrow promises to be a brilliant day with a range of fantastic stalls and attractions including a children’s carousel, two bouncy castles, BBQ, bar, arts and crafts, raffle and adults/kids tombola. Please try your best to come along and support the event – all the money raised will go towards buying much needed resources for our children. The fete will take place from 12 – 3pm - hope to see you there!

St. Peter and St. Paul School Mass and Holy Communion Procession

Next Wednesday 29th June, Father Nicholas will visit school to lead a Mass and Holy Communion Procession with the children. All parents, carers and family members are most welcome to attend at 2pm. The children who have recently made their first Holy Communion have been invited to wear their communion clothes. Any parent who would like to help their child to get changed is welcome to come into school from 1.30pm.

Test Week

All pupils were involved in various tests this week and the outcomes will be used to plan future targets and support. Pupil results will be included on your child’s ‘Annual Pupil Progress Report’.

Sainsburys Active Kids Vouchers

We will be sending off all the vouchers we have collected at the end of next week. If you have any left lying around at home we would be very grateful of any extra donations.

Early Years Class Assembly

EYs class assembly will take place next Tuesday 28th June, at 3pm. All parents, carers and family members are most welcome to attend. A member of staff will open up the front entrance to school shortly before this time, so all visitors can make their way to the hall.

Chelsea Football Club

Just a reminder that the last sessions, for both Key Stages 1 and 2, will take place next week.

London Fire Brigade

Next Monday Years 2 and 5 will take part in a workshop led by a representative from the London Fire Brigade. This will cover topics such as fire prevention strategies and what to do in an emergency.

WEE Day Sale

On Wednesday 29th June, our pupil School and Eco Council will be holding a ‘Book and Nearly New Toy Sale’ in the school hall at 3.30pm. If you would like to purchase any items, please bring along some loose change. All money raised will go to one local and one global charity.

Year 5 PGL Meeting

We would like to invite all Year 5 parents to attend a PGL meeting, next Thursday 30th June, from 3 – 3.30pm. This meeting will provide details of the residential trip we are planning for next year and will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have.

BT Volunteers

Over the next few weeks a representative from BT will be visiting each class to lead workshops with the children. These sessions will cover a range of topics associated with developing good communication skills. Years 2 and 5 will be visited next Tuesday followed by Years 3 and 4 on Friday.

PTA News

It’s our school fete tomorrow!!!

You’ll have a fabulous, family afternoon whatever the weather, 12noon -3pm.

                   *         The main fund-raising opportunity of our school year, all proceeds will be ploughed-back into the school for the benefit of all our children’s education.

                   *         £1 entry per family - the Fete entry is the usual school entrance in Rockingham Close; please do not use Waterloo Road entrance as it will be locked.

                   *         Lots of traditional stalls – lucky dip, face-painters, craft, crazy hair, candy floss and bouncy castle.

                   *         Lots of delicious food from around the world. All home-made by parents.

                   *         A well-stocked bar.

                   *         Tombola for adults and children.

                   *         A trophy for the winner of the football penalty challenges.

                   *         Possibly bring even more cash if you wish to buy new uniform from Adam’s uniform shop (greatly reduced), we have a 2nd hand uniform stall as well.

Information for parents who have volunteered to help at the fete:

                   *         Firstly, a huge thank-you for offering to help make our Fete a huge success.

                   *         The school will be open at 9am for set-up.

                   *         For those of you working on the barbeque, bar, tea and cake areas are recommended to arrive early to ensure we are ready for 12noon, therefore I recommend you arrive around 10am.

                   *         All other stall holders are recommended to arrive at 11.30.

                   *         For those of you helping myself and Sue to bring out the tables I would recommend coming close to 9am.

                   *         Anyone needing to unload cars etc, please drive close to the gates in the teacher’s car park. Then please move your car to the other end of their car park - Waterloo Road as we need to keep the gates clear for the fairground ride.

                   *         Waterloo Road gates will be locked mid-morning.

                   *         If you are bringing any items from home, please ensure they are labelled with your name, e.g. cooking utensils, plates.

                   *         Dare I say bring wet-weather gear, if necessary all stalls will be moved inside where possible.

                   *         Any queries at all, please text Sarah 07855 998695 or Sue 07580 805236.
