Christmas and Advent Celebrations 2016

This week was full of Christmas cheer! On Wednesday, the children enjoyed their Christmas lunch in the school hall - this included turkey, crackers and carols. Thank you to all the family members who attended our KS1 productions and our Early Year’s play this week. All of the children sang and performed brilliantly and reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas!

Early Morning Support

All early morning (8.30am) support will not be taking place throughout next week. This includes Mrs Sullivan’s maths group, Mrs Owen’s Yr6 Kent group and all one-to-one pupil interventions.

Christmas Discos: Non-Uniform Day

Next Monday 19th December, all pupils will attend a Christmas disco in the afternoon. To allow all pupils to fully enjoy this event, they may wear their own clothes to school on this day (no football tops please). All Nursery pupils should attend the afternoon session on this day.

Christmas Carol Service

We would like to invite all family members to attend our Christmas Carol Service on Tuesday 20th December, at 4pm. Our Year 6 pupils will lead the singing and perform scenes from the Nativity story. As in previous years, the carols will be sung by candlelight creating a magical atmosphere in our Church. Hope to see you there!

Clothes Collection Fundraising

Thank you for the donation of bags of unwanted clothing, linens, shoes, bags and belts to raise money.  We are very pleased to inform you that the October’s collection raised £180.

Primary School Applications

Please remember that if your child was born between 1st September 2012 and 31st August 2013 you need to complete an application form for St Mary’s and an online application at www.hillingdon.gov.uk/schooladmissions

Closing date for applications is 15th January 2017.

Last Day of Term

All pupils finish next Wednesday 21st December, at the earlier time of 1.30pm. The whole school will visit Church in the morning to celebrate the end of term with a special Mass. If you are able to help accompany the children to and from Church – please let your child’s class teacher know as soon as possible (we will be leaving school just after 9am). All Nursery pupils should attend the morning session on this day.

Lower Early Years
We would really like the Lower Early Years classes to be able to attend Mass on Wednesday 21st December as this would mean the whole school community could be together for this special occasion. It is especially important for the Lower Early Years children to attend Mass as it forms a vital part of their primary education. For this to be possible we desperately need lots of helpers to walk to and from church with the Lower Early Years children. Please may we request as many helpers as possible to enable the whole school community to attend Mass together. If you would be available to help with this special request, please let the Early Years staff know.

Christmas Break

As this is the final newsletter for this term we would like to wish you a merry Christmas and hope you have a safe and restful break. We look forward to welcoming all pupils back to school on Tuesday 3rd January 2017.
