Weekly Newsletter - Thurs 15th June

Crazy Hair Day

Last Friday our PTA sent home a ‘sweet cup’ with every child. The ‘sweet cup’ tombola is one of the most popular stalls at the Summer Fete.  We would really appreciate it, if you could please fill this cup with sweets and treats (pencils, little toys, hair clips). Lots of items can be found around the house, maybe from party bags. When filled, kindly place some tape around the lid to keep it attached. Tomorrow we are inviting all pupils to come to school wearing ‘crazy hair’ in return for bringing back their filled cup.

We look forward to seeing the range of different hairstyles on display!

JDP Scavenger Art Competition for Y3 and Y4

Each year, pupils across England, Wales and Scotland take part in the JDP’s Sustainability in Schools programme.

This year’s theme, a Scavenger Hunt, tasked pupils in Year 3 and Year 4 to go on a scavenger hunt in their local area and create a collage of a forest/woodland scene with their findings.

We are so pleased to inform you that all Year 3 and Year 4 children who participated presented very good works and Charlotte Jeffreys from Year 4 won the runner up in the South East regional heat of a “Sustainability in Schools” art competition , Charlotte won £200 for St Mary’s and a £20 high street gift voucher.

Test Week

The results will be analysed and used to identify targets and future support for the remainder of this term (and also for the next academic year). Non-Uniform Day

This will take place on Thursday 22nd June. All pupils may wear their own clothes in return for bringing in a luxury item (wine, spirits or chocolates).
